Secretary Industries chaired a meeting to review 1.Progress of PSIC house, 2.Poonch house and 3. Establishment of Girls incubation center at GCT Lytton road. Meeting was attended by DG Industries, MD PSIC, Sr GM TEVTA, SE C&W, XEN Building research, and Additional Secrtary Technical C&W.
SE C&W assured that within 15 days third party report about structural strength of PSIC House will be handed over to MD PSIC. XEN C&W assured that work of conservation and preservation of Historical Poonch House is in progress and will be completed in 5-6 months.
New incubation center at GCT Lytton Road with help of Punjab Small Industries Corporation for benefit of girl students of TEVTA – This will be a model for entrepreneurship programme for TEVTA students.
Secretary Industries after review meeting with C& W department visited Poonch House, built in 1842 for reviewing progress of preservation and conservation of the Heritage building.
DG Industries, XEN & SDO C& W, Consultant Archaeology Mr Maqsood Ahmed and concerned officers accompanied and briefed about progress.
It was observed that modern material( bricks, cement, concrete, aluminium windows etc) are being removed and replaced with original material necessary for Preservation of any Heritage & historic building. Lime mortar, , Kankar, Daal Maash etc are being used for plastering purposes which not only enhance its life but it’s architectural and heritage value.
The secretary industries desired Archaeology directorate and C& W officers to restore Poonch house to its past glory.
